Nairobi

Nairobi is the least expensive arrival city for flights with a full range of hotels and local attractions. Dubbed the “Safari Capital of the World” cool, clear and cosmopolitan Nairobi is the natural departure point for most safari itineraries. Masai Mara is the northernmost portion of the larger Serengeti ecosystem and features the best game viewing in the region. The small size funnels animals into a tight space, and park rules allowing off-road driving which means that guests can venture into plains covered with hundreds or even thousands of animals. Take an optional hot air balloon ride over the plains, with the opportunity for amazing pictures of the animal herds below.

Serengeti - Ngorongoro

Includes a stop at the famous Olduvlai Gorge where the homonid "Lucy" and other significant archeological discoveries have been made. Enjoy picnic lunch (included in tour price). "The Ngorongoro Crater is often called ‘Africa’s Eden’ and the ‘8th Natural Wonder of the World’. A massive extinct volcano, the sheet walls drop thousands of feet to a "Noah's Ark" of animals on the verdant floor below. Large herds of zebra, buffalo, antelope and wildebeest graze nearby while sleeping lions laze in the sun. At dawn, the endangered black rhino returns to the thick cover of the crater forests after grazing on dew-laden grass in the morning mist.

Ngorongoro - Lake Manyara

Descend into the Ngorongoro caldera to view the wildlife on the crater floor. Enjoy lunch (included in tour price). Game viewing with your expert guide in Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara National Park is a national park two hours west of Arusha. The majority of the land area of the park is a narrow strip running between the Gregory Rift wall to the west and Lake Manyara, an alkaline or soda-lake, to the east. It is famous for its population of flamingos. Manyara is used as an alternate or extension to Ngorongoro, located just outside the the conservation area gate. Guests can sightsee in two completely different temperate zones only 90 minutes apart. Park fees are less expensive than Ngorongoro. From soaring groundwater forests and a tranquil lake, to the mountain escarpment of the Great Rift Valley, Lake Manyara National Park boasts an incredible wealth of habitats and diverse African wildlife. Guests are offered an exciting, interpretive safari experience in game-rich surrounds which include large herds of elephant and buffalo.

Lake Manyara - Zanzibar

Morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park with your skilled driver guide. This beautiful park with its lush vegetation and tropical forests of giant fig and mahogany trees, takes its name from the Maasai word for "euphorbia tirucalli", a bush which is used to make a thorny hedge to protect their cattle. Elephant, giraffe, buffalo, zebra and a variety of antelope inhabit the park as well as a variety of monkeys and a large population of hippo’s. If you are lucky you may see the Manyara lions, well known for their tree climbing habits, lazily resting on the branches of an "Acacia tortilis" tree. The birdlife is also abundant, with flamingoes, pelicans, hornbills and plenty of forest species.

After lunch, transfer to Arusha airstrip to catch your onward flight. ARK-ZNZ Transfer to/from the east coast resorts in private vehicle and driver.
