Amboseli National Park is located at the Kenya-Tanzania border. It is a photographer’s paradise thanks to the abundant wildlife such as lions, cheetahs, rhinos and buffalo roaming under the shadows of the majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest mountain. Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park is probably one of the least visited of the northern Tanzanian game parks, and retains a real air of undiscovered Africa, particularly in the south of the park. Just two hours drive away from Arusha. It lies a little distance to the south east of Lake Manyara and covers an area of approximately 2,850 square kilometers. It is named after the Tarangire River that flows through the park. The swamps, tinged green year round, are the focus for 550 bird varieties, the largest number of species in one habitat anywhere in the world; on drier ground, the Kori bustard – the heaviest flying bird – can be found.
After dinner, you have the option to go for a night game drive where you will get to spot nocturnal animals such as aardvarks, civets, genets, serval cats, bush babies and various night birds. (Extra fees apply.)

Tarangire to Ngorongoro Crater Rim
After your morning game drive in Tarangire, proceed to your lodge located on the crater rim for relaxation and overnight stay. The world-famous Ngorongoro Crater is at the eastern edge of the Serengeti in northern Tanzania. Nearly three million years old, the ancient caldera of the once-volcanic Ngorongoro shelters one of the most beautiful wildlife havens on earth, ringed with towering walls and sheltering forests, grasslands, fresh springs and a large soda lake.

Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti National Park
Leave very early in the morning for game viewing in Ngorongoro Crater. Descend into the Ngorongoro caldera to view the wildlife on the crater floor. The Ngorongoro Crater is often called “Africa’s Eden” and the “8th Natural Wonder of the World”.
A massive extinct volcano, the sheet walls drop thousands of feet to a “Noah’s Ark” of animals on the verdant floor below. Large herds of zebra, buffalo, antelope and wildebeest graze nearby while sleeping lions laze in the sun. At dawn, the endangered black rhino returns to the thick cover of the crater forests after grazing on dew-laden grass in the morning mist.
In the afternoon, proceed to Central Serengeti where you will have dinner and spend your evening.
Accommodation: Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge

Central to Northern Serengeti
After your morning game drive in Central Serengeti, transfer to the northern part of the park with en-route game viewing in the afternoon.
Wildebeest Migration – July to October:
This is the long dry season and the wildebeest migration is moving north with the thundershowers. The period from July to September is the time when wildebeest herds cross the Mara River in the very north of the Serengeti in an area called Kogatende before they migrate to the Maasai Mara in Kenya. This provides for some amazing wildlife viewing.
Hundreds of thousands of wildebeest can congregate at crossing points: all crossing in a single continuous wave of beasts. And all this while tooth and claw are waiting around the sides to pick off the weak and the careless.
Enjoy game drives in the Serengeti, with “plains that never end”.
Accommodation: Chaka Camp
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Full day in Northern Serengeti
Many visitors only want to see the river crossings but the true spectacle of the migration is more than 1,500,000 wildebeests, 200,000 Burchell’s zebras, 18,000 elands and 500,000 Thomson’s Gazelles filling the entire stretch of landscape.
Besides the amazing wildlife in Kogatende another very positive feature is that there are very few lodges and camps here so all the viewing can happen with few others around.
Spending more days here increases your chance to witness endless herds of wildebeest crossing the Mara River. The shifting columns of the herds as they traverse the valleys and the hills can only be watched in awe. There is nothing else like this on earth.
Return to camp in late afternoon for dinner and overnight stay.

There is no bad time to visit the Serengeti as every season has its own special highlight – even the rainy season has the daily thunder and lightning to look forward to. Changing seasons and light patterns form the most beautiful backdrop to view Africa’s majestic and incredible wildlife.
