December is the home-coming month for the migrant animals. After travelling to Kenya for their annual sojourn, the wildebeest, zebras and gazelles come home to Tanzania for Christmas and the New Year. After 8 months of gestation, pregnant wildebeest are ready to give birth to calves. This happens in Ndutu located in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Southern Serengeti, mostly in February.
